Twisters Review: A Gripping Storm Chase with Stellar Performances

1–2 minutes

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Twisters, starring Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos in lead roles, has finally hit the theatres. The plot revolves around Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a former storm chaser who decides to return to the open fields. During her journey, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a daring and reckless storm chaser.

As the film unfolds, viewers are treated to a series of high-octane, adrenaline-pumping, storm-chasing adventures that keep them on the edge of their seats. The action sequences are intense and captivating, making Twisters a thrilling ride from start to finish. Glen Powell shines in his role, bringing charisma and energy that truly steals the show. His portrayal of Tyler Owens is both compelling and entertaining.

One of the standout aspects of Twisters is its strong character development, which is often lacking in action-packed films. Instead of merely focusing on the thrilling sequences, the movie takes the time to flesh out its lead characters and focus on the people amidst the chaos. Kate Cooper’s character arc is well-defined and develops throughout the film, as does Tyler Owens’. These focus points make the story more engaging and ensure that the audience remains invested.

The screenplay is robust, providing a solid foundation for the actors to deliver their best performances. Daisy Edgar-Jones excels as Kate Cooper, bringing a blend of vulnerability and determination to her role.
Her interactions with Powell are among the highlights of the film. The dynamic between Kate and Tyler is compelling, showcasing a blend of tension and chemistry that adds depth to their relationship.

It’s important to note that, despite its name and similar elements, Twisters has very little to do with the 1996 film Twister. Therefore, there’s no need for viewers to watch the original before seeing this one. Twisters stands on its own, offering a fresh take on storm-chasing adventures.

With powerful performances in lead roles and some really good tunes, the film delivers an engaging and memorable experience. Whether you’re a fan of action-packed, storm-chasing films or simply looking for an entertaining movie, Twisters is definitely worth a watch.
